Joe is an Infectious Diseases Physician who has been part of the Mater Hospitals South Brisbane since 1984. With training in Ireland, the UK, and the USA, he has built a career that combines clinical excellence with education and research.

Joe has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed papers, contributed book chapters, and co-authored the textbook 'Infectious Diseases: A Clinical Approach'.
He is an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Queensland and has served in leadership roles across multiple professional bodies, including as past President of the Australasian Society for Infectious Diseases.
